As a Direct Primary Care practice, we only accept a few hundred primary care patients per doctor. Traditional family practice docs routinely see over 2500 patients in their practice! This means when you need your doctor the most, you frequently hear "he is full today" and have to look elsewhere for care. Trust us, we know how frustrating this can be for both doctors AND patients.
We have fewer patients by design, so we can provide top-of-the-line care to each and every patient. Our Membership patients and Medicare patients will be treated to uncommon levels of personal service, especially when they are feeling ill and need it most. Here are some of the things you'll have access to as a Member patient:
We offer high-quality care to kids, adults, and geriatric patients. This includes chronic disease management (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc), mental health, urgent care, sports medicine, medical weight loss, and annual physicals.
Need a visit? We can usually get you a next-day appointment, for no extra charge.
Appointments are typically 30 minutes, but can go as long as 60. Whatever it takes to get you taken care of. Good healthcare takes time.
For example, minor suturing, cryotherapy, and skin biopsy are all included in your membership fee. Routine and annual labs are provided for an amazing discount over commercial prices. If there is an extra charge for a service, you will know exactly what it is before proceeding. There are special labs and procedures that may require an additional fee. Our members receive a discounted price for these special labs and procedures.
If you require a consultant for specialty medical care, we will work closely with that specialist. Good communication with other specialists helps us coordinate your overall care, prevent unnecessary duplication of costly testing, and ensure that unnecessary medications are not prescribed.
Should hospitalization be necessary, we will be involved in your care on a daily basis if hospitalized at DeTar, and can arrange for hospitalist coverage at another hospital of your choice. Upon discharge from the hospital, we will coordinate a transition of your care to home or another setting to ensure you are more likely to stay OUT of the hospital in the future.
We've negotiated great deals with national labs to get your tests done on the cheap. You'll be able to get your annual bloodwork done for less than $50, and routine labs such as diabetic monitoring can be performed for about $30 out of pocket. For many patients, the savings on this benefit alone will more than offset the out of pocket cost of our low monthly membership fees.
You'll be blown away by the prices we've negotiated for radiology services. From x-rays and mammograms, to advanced imaging like CT and MRI, we've pre-negotiated with local facilities to ensure you receive the highest quality testing at the most affordable pricing.
Our Medicare patients will benefit from much of the special attention afforded our Membership patients; however, pricing of services will be according to Medicare policies. We participate whenever appropriate in Medicare quality programs such as chronic disease management and transition of care. The minimal co-pays some Medicare patients may incur for these programs are well worth the benefits they bring in improved health, round-the-clock access to the practice, and coordination of care both during and between office visits. Whether you are a Member or Medicare patient, you'll find our practice is designed to care for you with an uncommon level of careful attention.
Are you ready to become a Member? Great! We’re excited to have you on board. Just fill out the form to get the ball rolling and we’ll be in touch. If you are a Medicare patient, there is no monthly fee, and your care will be provided according to medicare rates.
